Paperless CTC

Continuous Transposition Conductors - CTC - are two parallel adjacent stacked assemblies consisting of an odd number of enamel insulated rectangular single conductors. Different types of enamels provide insulation for each conductor. The number of conductors can be an odd number between 5 and 81. Transposition cables can be categorized into paper insulated conductors and paperless CTCs.

The main characteristic of CTC is that each conductor is continuously and repeatedly transposed through each possible position in the entire conductor cross-section during the rotational movement. During the transposition, each single conductor remains parallel to the other conductors without any twisting.


Paperless manufacturing, using tethers instead of 
Webbing: polyester mesh is used instead of tethers.

Transposition number 5 – 81 (odd or even optional)
Maximum dimension height 120 mm, width 26 mm (tolerance ± 0.05 mm)
Single conductor size thickness a: 0.90 – 3.15 mm, width B: 2.50 – 13.00 mm (tolerance ± 0.01 mm)
The recommended width thickness ratio of a single conductor 2.0 < B / a < 9.0
The recommended coating thickness ofenameled wire 0.08-0.12mm
The thickness of adhesive layer 0.03-0.05mm


Available in three insulation thermal classes: Inveform 120°C, Inveterm 180°C and Invemid 220°C. Enameled single rectangular conductors are tested according to IEC 60851 test methods, IEC 60317-0-2 general requirements, IEC 60317-18 (INVEFORM 120) and IEC 60317-28 ( INVETERM 180) and NEMA-MW 38C (INVEMID 220) standards. 

The bondable overcoat allows for bonding of strands after 24 hours of heat treatment at 120°C. The shelf life of the bondable overcoat is up to 8 months at a storage temperature of no more than 32°C (or 6 months after 48 hours at 110°C). Laboratory samples achieve good adhesion after 16 hours at 130°C or 24 hours at 120°C or 48 hours at 100°C. When ordering continuous

- Number of strands and their nominal size
- Copper type and enameled wire type (with or without bondable epoxy varnish)
- Minimum winding diameter
- Total paper thickness and paper type
- Lining paper and its thickness
- Required length and type of reel
