Enameled alu-180c aluminum flat wire for transformers

Enameled aluminum flat wire is a type of wire that is insulated by coating the surface of the aluminum wire with an insulating enamel. Aluminum flat wire consists of an aluminum conductor and an insulating enamel coating, and is used to make coils in electric motors, transformers, and other electrical equipment. When it comes to the design and manufacture of transformer coils, choosing the right wire material is critical.

   - LIGHTWEIGHT: The use of enamelled aluminum flat wire reduces the weight of the transformer as aluminum wire is less dense compared to copper wire.
   - Cost-effectiveness: Aluminum is a relatively inexpensive metal, so enameled aluminum flat wire is usually less expensive than copper wire.
   - Good Electrical Conductivity: Although aluminum has about 61% of the electrical conductivity of copper, enameled aluminum flat wire still has relatively good electrical conductivity, enough to meet the needs of many low or medium power transformers.

   - Due to the lower conductivity of aluminum, enameled aluminum flat wire will have a slightly higher resistance relative to copper wire of the same cross-sectional area. This may result in some energy loss and temperature rise, especially at high power or high current loads. Therefore, the resistance and power loss of the wire need to be carefully calculated and considered when designing a transformer.

   - The insulating enamel coating of enameled aluminum flat wire provides good insulation properties and ensures electrical insulation between coils and between coils and core. The insulating enamel is usually made of polyamide or polyurethane materials with high heat resistance and insulating properties.

   - The load capacity of enameled aluminum flat wire may be somewhat limited, especially in high power transformer applications. Due to the lower conductivity of aluminum, it may be necessary to increase the cross-sectional area of the wire or to use other more suitable wire materials, such as copper, in order to meet high power demands.

The design and manufacture of transformers is a complex process involving a combination of factors. In addition to the selection of conductor materials, it is also necessary to consider the rated power of the transformer, current load, temperature rise, insulation level, reliability requirements and other factors. Therefore, in practical application, suitable conductor materials should be selected according to specific design requirements and standards, as well as economic and performance requirements.
