While PVC-insulated unjacketed solid copper wire is widely used in many applications, in some special cases, such as in environments with high temperatures, high humidity, or the presence of chemical corrosives, other insulation materials or jacketing may need to be considered to meet specific requirements. In these cases, special insulating materials with higher temperature resistance, corrosion resistance or flame retardant properties may be selected.
