Speaker wire Enameled copper wire 2L Class 155

Loudspeaker Wire Grade 2L 155 Enameled copper wire is most commonly used for loudspeakers, but aluminum and copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) are also used. Copper is more conductive than aluminum, and replacing copper with aluminum requires a larger diameter wire to achieve the same conductivity.

Copper is the most widely used material in speaker cables due to its low cost and low resistance. However, copper oxidizes, so it needs to be well covered and insulated.

Is it the same as copper wire?
In a nutshell, speaker and copper power cables are variations on the same concept. Investing in speaker cables isn't always worth it. No matter what you choose, you can find almost any type of cable at Nassau Country Cable.

Speaker cable vs. enameled wire
Or by taking an old (non-ringed) transformer, pulling the stack, and then using the stack to build a suitable magnetic structure around a prepared spool of wound wire, a permanent magnet alternator or a fully externally excited machine should be possible, and save a lot of coil winding.
In any case, transformer stacks have good magnetic properties for such things.
