Drive motors for new energy vehicles

The drive motor of a new energy vehicle is a motor system used to propel an electric vehicle. It replaces the traditional internal combustion engine as the power source and converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to drive the vehicle.

DC brushless motor is a kind of brushless motor that realizes current reversal and commutation through electronic controller. It has high efficiency, high power density and long life and is commonly used in electric vehicles. Permanent magnet synchronous motors utilize synchronization between the magnetic field generated by permanent magnets and the magnetic field induced by the current to achieve rotation. It is characterized by high efficiency, high torque density and fast response speed. It is widely used in new energy vehicles.

Secondly induction motor is a kind of asynchronous motor that generates torque through electromagnetic induction. It has a simple structure, high reliability and is suitable for high power applications. Switched reluctance motor utilizes the change of magnetic resistance to generate torque. It has no permanent magnets, is simple in construction, less expensive and performs well at high speeds and high temperatures.


Enameled wire is a conductor consisting of a metal wire (such as copper or aluminum) covered with a layer of insulating varnish. This layer of insulating varnish prevents short-circuiting between the wires and also prevents electrical contact and damage between the wires and other components. Mainly used for winding motor coils, enameled wires are wound on the stator or rotor of a motor. Specific motor characteristics, such as torque output, speed control, and efficiency, can be achieved using the appropriate winding method and construction.


Drive motor types are widely used in new energy vehicles, and the use of different types of motors can meet different vehicle performance needs and drive system design requirements. In addition, drive motors in new energy vehicles usually form a complete electric drive system with batteries, electronic controllers and auxiliary systems (e.g., cooling system and energy management system) to jointly realize the power output and control of the electric vehicle. Enameled wires usually have good electrical conductivity, insulation and heat resistance, and their diameters and insulation thicknesses can be selected according to the motor design requirements.
