HOW TO WIND A FLAT-WIRE MOTOR FOR 800V ARCHITECTURE?

First of all, you need to choose the right flat wire as the winding material. Flat conductors are usually braided from several strands of fine wire, with a flatter shape and a relatively larger cross-sectional area. Depending on motor design requirements and space constraints, determine the winding layout. The flat-wire winding can be multi-layer or single-layer. The multilayer arrangement will be divided into a number of parallel layers of flat conductors, with each layer of wire stacked in a staggered pattern. A single-layer arrangement winds the wires sequentially on the same layer. The specific arrangement must be chosen according to the motor's characteristics and requirements.

The number of winding layers is determined by the motor's power requirements and space constraints. More winding layers can increase the winding conductor fill factor and improve power density. However, a greater number of winding layers also increases the complexity and cost of winding manufacture.

Flat wire windings can be connected using double U-pin connectors, as described above. Double U-pin connectors can be used to connect flat wires to ensure good current transfer and reliability.

For high-voltage applications up to 800 V, insulation treatment is very important. The winding wire must be insulated with suitable insulating materials, such as insulating varnish, insulating tape, etc., to ensure that electrical insulation performance meets requirements, and to prevent breakdown and current leakage.

The specific design program for the flat-wire motor winding must be based on the motor's detailed specifications, application requirements and standards. This includes motor power, size and operating environment. During the design process itself, it is advisable to seek the assistance of professional motor design engineers or consultants to ensure the rationality, reliability and performance optimization of the winding design.
